UTSA's Student Council Chapter of the International Reading Association (IRA)- is a non-profit professional Educational organization composed of faculty advisers students, and pre-service teachers, and others interested in promoting literacy in San Antonio. UTSA Student Council IRA offers its members:

- Professional development
- Ways to build your teaching portfolio
- A way to build relationships
- with friends and network
Interested in joining?
Then just show up! We hope that you become an IRA member this semester! All you have to do is attend the two meetings this semester, sign up as a member on RowdyLink and pay $5 each meeting for membership dues! We will provide you with a membership certificate at the end of the semester for your teacher portfolio!
INTERESTED in being an officer?
It takes a lot to be a teacher! One key to being a great teacher is LEADERSHIP! We know you have what it takes to be an IRA officer! Officer elections are held at the last meeting of the school year. Officers who are elected will serve a full school year term. For more information on officer positions and responsibilities please see the document below.
